I am just curious is you can make this ahead and chill. I know some recipes get a little watery when you do. I made the sauce last night, and will be finishing it up today! I always think sauce needs a day to rest and mellow! Every time I open the fridge it smells yum!!!

I had this recipe for a a long time from the food network. I make it every time we have lasagna. the original recipe call for a cup of red wine and I use heavy cream which makes a more smooth Bolognese sauce. I had never thought to use uncooked noodles which takes one big step out. the dish looks very tasty! I will try your version next time, thanks for the tips!

Love "reading" your recipes. Here in Maine we had a woman who published cookbooks(Majorie Standish) and everyone had to ,always had a story about the recipe itself or how she had obtained it. I still use these cookbooks and have given my 2 daughters a copy of each of the cookbooks. You know you can get a recipe from just about any where in this day and age but to be able to have a"story" to go along with it is just an added bonus. So, keep adding the" stories" they make the whole post so much better.

amazing lasagne! best i've had. it's so filling that we didn't eat nearly as much as we normally do. this should feed us for a few days. i love how after it's refrigerated and you cut into it, you get the lovely white and red stripes. thank you for this!

ok here goes, it's in the oven. my house smells like butter but there is no butter in there!
i sure liked getting the herbs right out of the greenhouse.
my husband's signature meal is his lasagne but it's so difficult i never make his favorite dish.
tonight i hope to best him, and reward him.
i have to say mine looks prettier than yours simply because i did not feel like getting out the food processor. mine has a rainbow of minced colors.
i am stunned that i could actually find ricotta cheese in germany. woo!

I just made this for dinner, and it's definitely an OMG. My husband has celiac disease so I used rice flour penne instead of making a lasagna (the rice flour lasagna noodles I've tried are awful). The only tweaks I made was to mix the pasta and ricotta together to make a layer, then covered that with the meat mixture. I only used 1 can of diced tomatoes and it was fine. Other than that, I followed the recipe to the letter and this is definitely a keeper. I know it's going to taste even better tomorrow for lunch.
