To Video Tutorial. Or Not to Video Tutorial.

Intro-VD

Been trying out some stuff on the iMac and I’m in love, people! Madly, passionately, head over heels in love. Having so much fun with it. Not sure why I waited this long to make the transfer, there was nothing to worry about—I feel right at home. It’s all so easy and intuitive.

Anyway, to make a long story short; I ran into some great video capturing software and wanted to see if uploading video tutorials would work for Kayotic Kitchen. It would sure make things easier than doing screencaps.

Here’s a simple old times type of feel I gave the photo. Mainly for testing purposes. The HD version is way too big to download, unfortunately. Now, if only I could figure out how to get the movie to open in a new window, at a bigger size, I’d be a really happy Dutch girl. You can watch it full screen, but it takes away from the quality.

Any tips on posting videos in different sizes/formats—especially in a WordPress blog—would be really appreciated.

      the best way would be to upload it in high quality on youtube or vimeo. embedded in the site the quality would be like this, but in fullscreen mode you can switch to a better quality.

      I agree on Vimeo. I’ve got a pro account, not cheap but I think it’s worth it, so many extra features.

      I would love to see more video tutorials from you! Will you also make cooking videos? And what software did you find? Am looking for a good one to capture screen activity myself. Good luck!

      @Suzanne:

      No cooking videos, no. I don’t have a video camera or movie feature in my camera.

      The program I’ve used is iShowU HD Pro.

      I do like the video idea, but heck I can’t see what you are doing.  :( I must be going blind.

      No worries; you’re not going blind! :)

      I have a 500 width blog, too small to see anything, and full screen is too big so it blurs things, hence my question to those familiar with video posts.

      It shows it’s playing but all I see is a black screen.
      I have a question about your Mac.  Is there a program that will let you use your existing Photoshop software or did/will you have to buy the Mac version?  I’m fixing to upgrade to CS5 but don’t want to do it if I’ll have to get new software when I get a Mac….which I hope will be within a few months.

      @Janie:

      No, you have to buy everything new. So keep that in mind, it’s pretty costly.

      Pro Show Gold is way to display and audio.  I like ideas that thump our appetite, which yours does. Bravo from a soul in Texas
