More ribs. Sorry ’bout that. What can I say? It’s the last day of our vacation and I was craving them. Yes, again. I have no backbone at all when it comes to ribs. Kiddo is off to school again come Monday and for me it’s life as usual again.

So I was craving ribs. Marinated these for 24 hours in a Indonesian-style marinade that I couldn’t recreate if my life depended on it and applies a light commercial rub. Really, one of these days I have to learn to write ingredients down as I go. I annoy myself.

Just whipped up a more European BBQ sauce, sweet and lemony, and my back yard smells like a Greek boulevard now! Sans the gorgeous Greek men. Can’t have it all but a girl can dream, right? It won’t be long before my neighbors will start dropping in, mark my words.

Before. With marinade and light rub.

Here’s what the ribs are looking like after two hours. I wish they didn’t smell so good.

They still have another 3 hours to go. Hope I’ll make it through without raiding the fridge first. Don’t worry, this weekend I’m going to shoot a few non-egg recipes. Promise. It’ll be hard, but I’ll survive. Somehow.

What are you gonna cook up this weekend?

Looks delicious, Kay, can I come over too? I’m on a diet so this weekend we’ll fix some broiled lemon pepper salmon with a big salad.

We’re having our annual family crab feast this weekend.  We’ll eat Maryland steamed blue crabs until we’re stuffed, and then we’ll have just a couple more!  Everybody brings something.  This year I’m taking a basket of fresh peaches and a corn and tomato salad with bacon, scallions, green pepper and a warm bacon vinaigrette with bacon grease, cider vinegar, sugar, smoked pepper & dry mustard.
