I had way too much fun making this recipe.
We were trying to create milkshakes for grown-ups. You know; something easy, tasty and colorful to serve on a hot summer’s day. A fun way to enjoy life’s little luxuries.
Now, I’ll spare you all the unusual and sometimes even crazy combinations we tried over the weekend—it was hilarious—though I’m tempted to post one or two in the weeks to come. But this one turned out to be the one for me.
What’s a summer rose, you ask? Well, think of it as a strawberry cheesecake milkshake… with a shot of tequila. Simply delicious.
Ingredients:
1/2 a cup (100ml) Häagen-Dazs® Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
5 or 6 big, ripe strawberries
3 tbsp silver tequila
3 tbsp ice-cold milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp white castor sugar
Directions:
* these quantities are enough for one milkshake.
First strawberries I bought this year. Didn’t expect them to be so sweet and full of flavor already.

Cut each strawberry in 4 parts.

Believe it or not, but I don’t have blender. I do have a blender ring for my food processor.

Didn’t think so.
I used these small, 100ml ice cream packs because they contain 3 scoops each. One pack per person.

Put the ice cream in your blender or food processor. See all those pieces of crust in there? Delicious.

Add the strawberries and tequila. Feel free to use less tequila, just replace whatever you leave out with more milk.

Sprinkle the sugar in there and pour in the vanilla extract.

You can add two or three ice cubes if you want the shake to be really, really cold.
Blitz until the strawberries are thoroughly blended.

Pour in a pretty glass. Garnish with strawberries, mint and a straw. That’s it. Will take you 2 minutes tops.
This is such a perfect, refreshing ending to a summer BBQ feast.
