The Portrait Cookbook

Thanks for entering, everyone!

The winners are #21 which is Aline, and #65, and that’s Jessica (get out from under the table, Jessica!). You’ll both get a copy of Kelly’s “The Portrait Cookbook“, and I just know you’ll get good use out of it!

Enjoy it, ladies.

Another photography giveaway, a special one at it.

It doesn’t require Photoshop, or even an (expensive) DSLR. All you need is you, your camera and your love for photography. This giveaway is all about improving your skills and helping you become a better photographer. It comes from Kelly over at Willette Designs, where she offers a pretty unique service to photographers—both aspiring photographer and professional children’s photographers.

A few weeks ago, when I happened upon Kelly’s website, I was awe-struck by her photography skills and the tools she offers photographers. I perused her site and found some amazing goodies there. One of those tools—and you might have heard of it—is the popular “The Portrait Cookbook” posing guides series.

Does that look good or what? I’m a sucker for posing guides—especially posing guides for children. It’s an amazing book that offers guidance on how to vary poses and how to streamline portrait sessions. A real must-have. It’s something we all have to learn as we go and sometimes we learn the hard way. That’s why I’m so glad with the chance to offer you a head-start by learning from a more seasoned photographer!

I’ve noticed her current pose guides include: children’s, sibling, newborn, baby, family and senior guides. So there is always something for you to work with. You can see more of Kelly’s work and tools at www.willettedesigns.com or posing guides.

Two more of her wonderful tools are the Keepin’ it Real Photography Workshop (the workbook is available to those who want to start a children’s portrait business, but who cannot commit to attending a workshop in person, like little ole me), photography marketing sets to help your business, and the Photographer’s Bag O’ Tricks, which is a tool to help photographers keep portrait sessions fun for children. Her blog is full of useful photo tips, (free) templates and tons of inspiration. Go check it out, you will love it every bit as much as I do.

Kelly is sweet enough to give away two free copies of her Portrait Cookbook here on Kayotic Kitchen. So, if you’re into photography—and I know a lot of you are—you will love this book!

Here’s what you get:

To enter, answer the question below:

What kind of photo do you wish your parents had taken of you as a child that you don’t have today?

That one hits close to home, seeing as I only have 4 photos of myself as a little girl and one half-shot of me as a baby. But the one photo I truly wish would have been taken was a photo of my son and me, right after giving birth to him. The earliest photo of us together is when he was almost two weeks old.

Only one entry per person, please, and no entries after Monday April 19. Winners will be announced later that day!

Good luck, everyone! And thanks to Kelly for the generous offer!
