Much faster than expected, my plants were a whopping 1 foot and ready for their last transfer. These transfers make me nervous. I had bought some buckets, and decided to transfer only one or two a day for the weeks to come.
These pots are huge! Expensive, too, at the greenhouse store.

So I decided to look online to see if I could find cheaper buckets. I did. I found some basic, square 5 gallon containers that were roughly 50% cheaper than those at the greenhouse store. Score! It wasn’t until after I paid for them that I realized I actually bought them at an online marihuana grow-store. Oops.
Anyway, I carefully transferred them and watered them profusely.

While the little ones are still being shielded from too much sun by sun covers (they leave approximately 80% light through) that came with the foil greenhouse.

And then they went back into my windowsill where I kept a close eye on them. Nothing bad happened. I like it when no bad things happen.

Amazing, so many plants and still no casualties. A lot of them are still indoors. Way too much plants.

Not for long, though, slowly I’m letting them get used to the wind and sun. A little longer every day.

Gonna miss all the foliage in my window sill, that’s for sure. Might just keep 3 of them there to see what they’ll do, pepper wise.
All that’s left to do now is water them, fertilize them, check for pests and wait for them to grow flowers. I was told to rub my finger in the middle of every blossom to help move the pollen to the stamen, and so I will.
I’m having way too much fun with all these plants. So much that I also started up some lime-basil and garlic-chives. The herb garden is flourishing as well. Will keep you posted!

It should only take about a week to harden off plants that large – a couple hours to start and then a couple extra hours each day. As long as its not close to freezing at night (which shouldn’t be a problem in Holland) they should be fine. :)
