Project Jalapeño V

1

They’re growing alright. Perhaps a bit too fast, seeing as they are already developing flower buds.

Technically I was told I could leave them on if the plant was at least 4 inches tall and chances were the first flowers would fall off naturally. I measured them and they were a whopping 5 inches.

Not to shabby, huh?

However, I decided that they would probably be better off putting their energy into building a solid structure first. So I pinched off the buds.

I don’t think the plants are big and strong enough to support a lot of peppers and I don’t want to stunt the grow.

I’ll give them a little longer. We’ll see what happens.

I grew Jalapenos last year, and after about 4 Weeks, I had a Boatload of them!!!   After about 2 1/2 Weeks, I had 4 small ones which grew to medium very shortly after.
I grew them in a rectangular plastic box that I left on my back deck and they seemed to grow better in the sun and watered everyday when it’s above 85 degrees outside.

      Good luck with your batch!

I just found out jalepeno can be saved!! Pick them wash them very good. Dry them and put them in freezer bags
They last a very long time. They may be a little
Bit softer but they retain all their flavor. Have fun!

      1. What I did last time was chop them up and freeze them in 1 tbsp portions. Worked like a charm!
