Public service announcement!
My amazing designer, Sergio, has worked alongside his php guru on a pretty nifty way to make printing my recipes much easier for you. I couldn’t be happier.
Up until now you had to either print the posting itself, or print the recipe card that I attached. Let’s tell it like it is: it kinda sucked and started to annoy me. Not the recipe cards, mind you, I’ll still add those now and then but the whole print feature was clumsy but it was the best I could do at the time. I also didn’t want to have a printable text recipe plastered at the bottom of each posting cluttering the pages. I simply wanted it to be invisible. I know, I’m so easy to work with. And so undemanding.
But I’ll be darned, not only did they pull it off, they managed to do it exactly as I envisioned it. I think they did a great job!
Now let me start by saying that, for the time being, this feature applies to new recipes—the ones posted from hereon. But only until I (manually) add a special print recipe to all the recipes in my website (The hardship of a blogger. Pity me!) Suffice to say it’ll take me a little while. So I figured it be best to just mention it now.
For starters, try it with this posting. At first glance you see nothing but the posting. Nothing, Nada, Zip, Bupkus. At least I don’t. But if you, instead of clicking the “Printable Recipe” button below the posting, choose to Print (or try print preview first) within your browser, you’ll see that instead of having to print the entire posting, you’ll actually get a printable recipe. Is that neat or what? I’ll leave the Printable Recipe function up until I have all the recipes added to the postings.
Hope you don’t mind putting it to the test for me? Please, pretty please with a cherry on top, let me know if it works okay for you and especially let me know if you stumble upon a glitch!
