Made this a few days ago and it was amazing. I used Kielbasi instead of the sausages so I did not need to brown them first. Though I think next time I will try it with the sausage recommended.
I have a family of 5 and 4 of us liked this recipe A LOT! The one who did not like it does not like Kielbasi (so that is why I will be trying it again with sausage recommended). So 4 out of 5 is excellent for our family.
Thanks so much for posting this recipe. I will be making it again. The carrots were my favorite part so I will be adding a lot more of them next time. I also did not use the fennel (simply because I have never eaten in and was not sure that I would like it).

This is the best recipe I have found on Pinterest….ever! Thank you so much. I have made it so many times now and we just adore it every time. I have used Adell’s apple chicken sausage, and tonight we are trying it with Adell’s pineapple and bacon chicken sausage.

Made this tonight for the first time. It was wonderful! My whole family loved it. I omitted the fennel because I don’t care for it. And I had to double it for my size of family. But everything else I kept the same. This is a new family favorite!

This is my second time making this casserole dish, and I was vaguely skeptical the first time (only because my boyfriend is generally not so fond of vegetables of any kind, and neither of us had ever tried fennel before…), but it honestly is a VERY savory and tasty dish. We just threw a random bunch of chicken sausages we had found at Whole Foods, and it was amazing!
The balsamic vinegar really adds something extra to the dish that makes it go farther than I expected. It’s very tasty.
Just thought I’d throw my two-cents in for anyone hesitating on this recipe!
