KitchenAid Giveaway (time’s up!)

Thanks for entering, everyone! It sure gave me plenty ideas for new postings! Certain types of food were new to me and sounded fascinating, like the deep-fried cheese curds. I have no idea what it is, but it sure sounds good. I was also completely unaware of fajita tacos? I’ve eaten fajitas and I’ve eaten tacos, but not sure what to expect when you combine them. Which brings me to the winner.

Random.org gave me #234.

Which is Rhonda! Congrats!

Please contact me Kay@kayotic.nl, so we can get you that pretty shiny KitchenAid! And Rhonda, please let me know what those fajita tacos are, okay!

Happy birthday to me! Or better said, happy birthday to Kayotic Kitchen!

My blog is officially one year old today, my baby is a toddler! Wow, the year has flown by. Only one year ago I decided to do something with the photo recipes I’ve been posting over at Livejournal for about 4 years now, so I started posting them here as well—in a slightly more extensive form—not realizing how many people would enjoy seeing them. I think it’s safe to say that food unites the world.

I’m amazed, and a little proud of myself, by how far the blog has come. So many daily visitors from all over the world, so many recipes, so many photos and so much fun. I just love doing this.

But I couldn’t have done it without you. As a big thank you, I’m giving away something special to jazz up your kitchen, spice up your cooking and make your life a little bit easier. What better way to do that than with a Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer, in your color of choice. It’s rare for me to do a giveaway, much less such an expensive one, so know it’s absolutely from the heart! Not pushing you in any directions, but oh boy, this one sure looks sexy good.

To enter, let me know what your all-time favorite food is. Having a food blog, it can be really useful for me to know that!

* Only one entry per person and no entries after Wednesday 7am CEST, please. I’ll announce the winner later that day!

Thanks for making this blog a really fun place to be! And for giving me a chance to do something more with my photography and my love for cooking other than keeping it tucked away on my harddisk. You guys are the best!

Much love,

~Kayleigh

Hi, I’m Missy and I am a Vietnamese foodaholic. From pho to ga luc lac to basic simple, delicious rice- it is so ALL good. I could eat it everyday. Vietnamese sandwiches- good enough to serve as my last meal. Vietnamese sweet rice- good to the last coconut shaving. Lemongrass, lemongrass lemongrass. Clay pot pork, and certainly not to be forgotten the most wonderful crisp tender veggies stir fried in one of my truest of loves…GARLIC. Lots and lots of garlic. And veggies, lots and lots of veggies. I absolutely love the stuff. To me it encompasses all that is good in food. But in hopes that I have your attention now, I must also say, Kay you are fabulous. You are so good at what you do. You have saved me from many a boring meal- and my husband is so grateful for it. Congrats on a wonderful year!!!!!!

Happy Birthday! Your blog is one of my faves – from the recipes to the pretty pics. You rock.

My favorite food is fried chicken. I suppose because I have such strong memories of my great-grandma cooking it on Sunday morning, or my grandmother cooking it on Friday afternoon to get us through the sabbath. It’s everything – crunchy, salty, juicy, delicious… words fail me. I cook mine in the same cast iron skillet that belonged to my great-grandma – every time I pull it out I get misty. Such a plain, simple recipe – but the best chicken ever.

Happy birthday to your blog! It’s such an enjoyable read and I’m always excited to see new recipes posted here. MY favorite food is sushi for sure. I used to spend so much money a week on sushi I just decided to buy a book on making sushi rolls so I could make it myself for a fraction of the price. I’m in love with the sweet eel sauce that I put on unagi rolls and the spicy sriracha mayonnaise mix I use for spicy tuna rolls. I just wish I had decided to learn how to make it sooner. :)

Only one year?? Realy? It seems like I got Kayotic Kitchen addiction 3 or even some more years ago!!!
Congrats Kay! Doing a wonderful wonderful job.
Every new post on Kayotic Kitchen website is like a tasty a vacation (even for some minutes) for me :)) Though it would be really nice of you to post everyday :) Just joking, no worries.

About the favorite meal? Ever ever ever? It’s sooo simple – you can buy my attention and win my heart with a good Ceasar salad with some crynchy croutons and homemade Ceasar dressing on top. And of course a lot of Parmiggianio Reggiano. It is so good.

Happy birthday! Long live the Kayotic Kitchen :)

Kay, congratulations!!! I haven’t followed your blog for a while (no time to cook, so no need for recipes), until yesterday when I made your kefta and couscous, it was soo good. I remembered again how good your blog is. From now on I will be a loyal follower again.
I would love to win that kitchenaid. So my favorite food is everything that is asian. From vietnamese, to chinese, and filipino to Indian, from japanese to Indonesian food.
      Keep up the good work!

My favourite food has to be chips (fries/frittes) – although I am attempting to step away lately *eyes waistline*. So I’ll just have to say potatoes, in general. So versataile! So yummy! :))

(btw, wanted to tell you how much I love the blog – I send my mom links every other day, the highest praise of course…)

My favorite is really anything my husband makes :). But seriously, I love Kalbi ribs with rice and then the pickled sides they make in Korea. It reminds me of my home in Hawaii.

      Happy 1st Anniversary!

I couldn’t possibly choose my all-time favourite food. Burritos are, of course, fantastic and versatile, but I have grown to love lasagne, and all sorts of Indian (oh, tandoori chicken..)

Moving to the Netherlands really got me more in contact with other types of delicious food.

It’s hard to say, I love food in general so much. But right now, because it’s hot, I’d say ice cream.

My all-time favorite food is this fantastic spaghetti with meat sauce dinner that my whole family will each make a piece of and bring together for dinner. Someone does the salad, another does the garlic bread and I usually do the meat sauce. My brothers and I are all grown up and doing our own things, but we always come home and do this dinner together with our parents. It’s as much for the family unity as it is the delicious food we get to make and eat together, but this spaghetti dinner will always be my favorite.

Happy anniversary! I wish you many more to come!
