Thanks for entering, everyone! Back from vacation and ready to rock and roll again! Well, ready is a big word, but I sure feel more rested and relaxed. And that’s what vacations are for.
The winner is #114 (Meredith), congrats! Please contact me at Kay@kayotic.nl so we can get you your KitchenAid!
It’s been a while. One year to be exact. One year ago today I had my first KitchenAid giveaway. I’m not one to throw around expensive giveaways, but it was a special present as a thank you for making that first year of blogging unforgettable. It only makes sense to do another KitchenAid giveaway now that my toddler became a preschooler today. Two years already, wow. I’m still impressed with my persistence, especially after I’ve been told that 55% of the blogs don’t make it past the first three months.
Lots of things happened this last year, some good and some bad, from still ongoing family tragedies to happy events and everything inbetween. And not in the least my brand new site design, of which I’m extremely proud. My blog has become home to the things that are part of me now, if that makes sense. It let’s you peek into my food, photos, idiosyncrasies, thoughts and life.
Without all of you there would be no Kayotic Kitchen, and I would be missing out on all the fun photographing my sometimes weird recipes, my sweet-but-oh-so-naughty son and my beautiful country brings with it.
There is simply no better way to celebrate a Blogoversary and to say thank you than by giving away a shiny new and pretty Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer, is there? Know that it doesn’t matter to me where on God’s green Earth you reside—provided they sell KitchenAid’s there—or what color you’re lusting after.
The orange one is seriously cute, though.

But with the World Championship ending on a not so happy note for our orange team, lime might be better. Definitely easier on my aching heart!

~ To enter, let me know what your dream vacation looks like. Seeing as I’m on vacation as you’re reading this.
* Only one entry per person and no entries after Monday 10am CEST, please. I’ll announce the winner later that day!
Thanks, everyone, for making my second year of blogging even more successful than my first! And always remember:
“Close your eyes. Feel the rain. Feel the sun. Live!”

A liesurely tour of Europe. I love history and there is just so much depth and age EVERYWHERE over there!
Congrats on your blogoversary!
Dream vacation??? Two or three months of traveling the hill towns of Tuscany. Stopping for a few days here and there to learn from the older women who are known for their “home cooking”. Learning from the best small bakery owners how to make perfect bread. Eating non-stop. Drinking the best wines. And snuggling in the evenings with my husband.
The same could be said of Paris. Or Rome. Or India. There’s great food and a lot to learn WHEREVER you go!!!
My dream vacation would be able to travel through Europe, only had a brief stint back when I was twelve and hardly was able to see much of anything (tour). Would love to be able to travel through the countryside in France back a short trip through Italy and head off to Greece.
One can dream, right?
I’ve dreamed about going to France my whole life. One of my favorite books is A Year in Provence, and if I could eat like they do and wander around for a few weeks, I’d be one happy girl!
So glad I found you & your blog, congratulations on your anniversary!
You already know how much I love your food and how intrigued I am about life in your country.
My perfect vacation….a cottage on the ocean in the Bahamas. We almost managed to do it this past spring but life (needed a new well dug) got in the way.
Thanks for the chance to win a KitchenAid. I guess I’d really have to start cooking if I won!
I would love to travel to the Netherlands, actually! I have an “e-friend” who lives in Arnhem and he’s shared so many pictures over the years that I’ve become obsessed with vacationing there :)
My dream vacation involves experiencing new places, new food and new people. I find anytime I am traveling I gain so much perspective on my own life. It really wouldn’t matter “where” I was so much as “who ” I was with. People that I love, enjoying food that I love and taking time to do things we can not do in our everyday lives. Walk down a country road. Take pictures of seashells, or cooking 3 times a day. Vacation for me is about doing the things I want to do everyday but “life” gets in the way. Vacation for me is about living entirely for one’s inner self.
Currently my dream vacation is anywhere I can spend time with my sweetie. He lives in London and me in the US, so if I get to see him then that’s my dream vacation be it a beach in the Mediterranean or Antarctica :)
My dream vacation would be a beautiful place near water with family. I love to swim in the ocean and read books on the beach. Seafood is always one of the biggest perks to being near the ocean! Early mornings with coffee and a good book… I would love it!
I enjoy reading your blog! Glad I found it.
My dream vacation is a trip I had the opportunity to take next year (but funds aren’t permitting)– a week-long choir trip to Prague to perform at Smetana Hall!
congrats, kay!
if i am allowed to dream, the holiday would be on an island somewhere in the pacific, and spent watching fishes.
I would love to go on a European cruise. I think it would be so relaxing and a once in a lifetime chance.
Congrats on two great years. Me, I would love to spend a year in Italy again. (I would also like to be 24 again like I was the first time!)
My dream vacation is go pick a place in Europe and stay for a few months then go to another place in Europe for a few months. I want to live and experience not just see the sites.
My dream vacation would be taking an Alaskan cruise with my family or relaxing on a nice warm beach.
Happy Blog Anniversary and enjoy your holidays.
Camping…..
I know, probably not the normal “dream vacation” but, I love to go camping, out in the middle of nowhere, where no one can find me!
Small deserted island! White sand, blue-green sea, lot of sunshine, lot of fresh fruits, smell of the salt on my skin and hair. :)) Enjoy your vacation!!
Hey! Congratulations to your anniversary!
My dream vacation actually looks exactly like the one I had just one week ago. My boyfriend and me on the little porch of the little rented red hut, surveying the Bolmen Sea in South Sweden. We sat there every evening, first in the sun and later in the evening with my bedding. We read, we played, we watched, we laughed. It was wonderful.
Hope you have a vacation as nice as mine!
Asolo, Italy… perfect getaway with the husband :) History-rich, gorgeous, and quaint…
I don’t exactly have a dream vacation but for me, if I’m holidaying with my loved ones, even though we’re eating satay by the roadside in Malaysia, it’ll still be a dream vacation for me. I guess I’m too simple minded!
Congratulations on the blogoversary.
Dream vacation, hmmm. The best ones are the ones where I get to stay home and do what I want since I work 6 days a week most weeks. However, a cruise – wait that’s a quilting cruise – would be fantastic. Doesn’t matter where as long as my hubby comes and there are lots of things for him to do.
We just got back from a week in Colorado in the US, was SO Wonderful!
I want to be on vacation all the time! So many places I want to see!
Congrats on 2 yrs! I’ve enjoyed reading your blog.
My dream vacation would be Italy. Roaming the streets and soaking up the culture with my family!
I really enjoyed our vacation two years ago in Scotland. I think I would like to spend some time in northeast United States; the Maine, Vermont areas, especially in the fall. Also a cruise would be fun.
Hmmm I’m dying to go to Italy and Greece – trek around the small villages and eat amazing food!
