Happy Blogoversary to Me!

Thanks for entering, everyone! Back from vacation and ready to rock and roll again! Well, ready is a big word, but I sure feel more rested and relaxed. And that’s what vacations are for.

The winner is #114 (Meredith), congrats! Please contact me at Kay@kayotic.nl so we can get you your KitchenAid!

It’s been a while. One year to be exact. One year ago today I had my first KitchenAid giveaway. I’m not one to throw around expensive giveaways, but it was a special present as a thank you for making that first year of blogging unforgettable. It only makes sense to do another KitchenAid giveaway now that my toddler became a preschooler today. Two years already, wow. I’m still impressed with my persistence, especially after I’ve been told that 55% of the blogs don’t make it past the first three months.

Lots of things happened this last year, some good and some bad, from still ongoing family tragedies to happy events and everything inbetween. And not in the least my brand new site design, of which I’m extremely proud. My blog has become home to the things that are part of me now, if that makes sense. It let’s you peek into my food, photos, idiosyncrasies, thoughts and life.

Without all of you there would be no Kayotic Kitchen, and I would be missing out on all the fun photographing my sometimes weird recipes, my sweet-but-oh-so-naughty son and my beautiful country brings with it.

There is simply no better way to celebrate a Blogoversary and to say thank you than by giving away a shiny new and pretty Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer, is there? Know that it doesn’t matter to me where on God’s green Earth you reside—provided they sell KitchenAid’s there—or what color you’re lusting after.

The orange one is seriously cute, though.

But with the World Championship ending on a not so happy note for our orange team, lime might be better. Definitely easier on my aching heart!

~ To enter, let me know what your dream vacation looks like. Seeing as I’m on vacation as you’re reading this.

* Only one entry per person and no entries after Monday 10am CEST, please. I’ll announce the winner later that day!

Thanks, everyone, for making my second year of blogging even more successful than my first! And always remember:

“Close your eyes. Feel the rain. Feel the sun. Live!”

My dream vacation is to visit Alaska and Hawaii.  My husband and I have been able to visit all of the other states and hope to see these before we are too old to travel. (How quickly that time arrives!!!)

I’ve always wanted to go to Norway, and see the fjords.  Or, go to Antarctica.  Or maybe Japan?  I have a lot of places I’d love to go to, but right now I think I’d pick Norway.  I love outdoor activities, and beautiful scenery, so Scandinavia seems like it would be perfect for that.

It’s either Scandinavia on a bike, or a comfy chair somewhere in the sun with a pile of books. I’ll have to try both and find out!

A dream vacation for me would include a quiet, hideaway to relax in with an interesting metropolis nearby to explore.  And if I had your pulled chicken sandwiches (which I just made and loved) then it would pretty much be a perfect vacation.  :-)

    Congrats!

On my lunchbreak I just happened to walk by the local cookware shop in Alkmaar last friday. They have the most amazing collection of Artisan mixers in the window. Among them a purple one. A purple one! my favorite color!
Anyway, I really love to sample local food wherever I go. My vacation isn’t complete unless I’ve been able to browse a couple of local markets and see, smell and taste the local produce. If at all possible learn how to cook some local specialities and in general just enjoying every moment of it. And then of course re-living the experience when I get home by trying to(!) re-create some of those dishes…

My perfect vacation is doing a roadtrip with my husband and our newlyborn son, no planning, just seeing where the wind takes us.
The country itself does not matter that much, although i prefer a sunny weather :)
