Fun with Food

FunwithFood

When I’m bored, I take photos. My favorite subject is, of course, my son.

But at almost 5-years-old he’s gotten a bit too clever for his own good. The bribing stopped working and he just won’t sit still unless I duct tape him to a chair. Clearly he’s broken and I need a new one.

Nah, there are other options. Options that do not include growing another child inside of me for 9 months. I just got the ‘touch my kid and you die‘ look pat down and have no desire going back to the ‘touch my pregnant belly and you die‘ phase.

Lucky for me, there’s nothing in this world that you cannot photograph and make look half decent. Nothing. Just open up your fridge and you’ll see a plethora of photography ideas.

Garlic is really photogenic. It smells but it looks good.

Especially when you edit the heck out of it. Which is, I should say, step 2 of overcoming the boredom.

Don’t tell me you don’t have any apples lying around?

What about breakfast cereal loops? Surely you have those.

Moral of the story: there’s no excuse to be bored as long as you have a camera, a fridge and pantry.

Oh, and Photoshop.

As always, your photos are beautiful.  What kind of editing did you do with the garlic?  I’m trying to teach myself photo-shop, it feels like a daunting task.
