Raise your hand if you knew cucumbers could be this photogenic! I had no idea, was a clueless, out of the loop foodie. But it sure was fun to try.
Just an idea I had after seeing someone do a similar thing with fruit some time ago. I think it turned out pretty neat. This was shot with one studio light with softbox attachment.
Would it be an an idea to do this with different types of fruit or vegetables and turn it into one large printable storyboard?

These look gorgeous…beautifully taken Kay…
It looks wonderful! Would love to have a storyboard.
That looks fantastic!
Awesome!
This looks fabulous! So light and airy. It makes me want to dive into a cuke right now. :)
Gorgeous! And yes, more please!
I’m seriously impressed with your skills.
Your photos are what makes me want to cook and this makes me want to photograph. Well done.
A story board with the ability to also print the pictures individually would be awsome! These prints would look terrific to introduce lightness into any room. I would love to have something like this in my kitchen…
Beautiful! I don’t like cucumbers, but I love your photo.
Outstanding photo!
Hi I would love to know how you achieved this shot. You mention soft box. I wanted to know if it’s possible to do it without one. I wanted to try the same shot but with strawberries! I use a 50mm 1.4 lens and use only natural light.
@Suskaina:
Okay, here goes:
I ripped an old photo frame apart because I needed the glass. Layered the cucumber slices on the glass and placed the studio light behind it and took the shot.
No idea how it will come out with only natural light. You might be able to try this outdoors using bright sunlight!
Thanks for the prompt reply. One last question please- didn’t the cucumbers slide off…did you stick them down?! Thanks in advance. Much appreciated!
@Suskaina:
Yup, things will slide so you need to be quick :)
just tried it with my strawberries…came out badddd! i’ll keep practicing!
@Sukaina:
The problem is, you need a lot of light to let it shine through the fruit and I’m not sure you’ll be able to get that effect using natural light.
