Just got back from a quick trip downtown. Made a pitstop at one of my favorite places downtown: the fair trade shop (also known as Worldshop), and while I was there I ran into this adorable stone angel. Bought it as a present for J-man. He loved it and wants to keep it on his nightstand.
Also couldn’t help but notice this lovely baby-blue Tajine (Tagine).

How could I not buy it?! Impossible. I don’t have that kind of willpower. Besides, I have a major weakness for Moroccan cuisine and didn’t own a tajine yet.

It’s soaking in a huge bucket of water for 24 hours now. Expect to see a few Aarabic dishes pop up on the blog real soon! Can’t wait to cook with this.
Which leads me to the next question: are there worldshops in the US, too?

Wow that’s a nice Tagine!
Can’t wait for the nice recipes you’re gonna cook in it.
Why do you keep talking about America as if it is only people from . . . the U.S. of A that view your web-site ?
You don’t do yourself justice by doing this ; people from all over the world admire you and your web-site, not just America.
P.S. Do you have a partner ? You never mention one . . . if not . . . ? I don’t need to say any more !
Love and Hugs

Well, you see… I am European therefore I KNOW fair trade shops exist all over Europe. I live here, I don’t have to ask that. I think the fair trade foundation started in the UK. There is also a fair trade Organization in Asia. But I do not know if fair trade shops exist in the USA, hence the question.
Of course I have a partner! You can actually see his hands in a lot of my photos, and there are numerous shots of him and J-man in the blog.
Totally love the baby blue tagine! Have NEVER seen one in that colour! Is the bottom part glazed? Wonder if you can really bake in it if it is…i’ve also been eyeing them lately, but leaning more towards the creuset or the lovely Black IKEA one!
The angel is schattig! Could also use one myself!
Enjoy de mooie weer, Kay!
It’s a glazed one, and yes, this one if for cooking :)
I haven’t seen one in my neck of the woods (Memphis area).
I have SO been wanting one myself!
It would really be your thing! Checked out a cast iron Le Creuset tajine, but it was a bit too pricey for me, E130 ($185) and that was while they’re on sale.
Wow. That is a bit steep. But I’m sure it would last for a great many years.
Yes!! There are Fair Trade stores in the U.S. We have several in Chicago, and there are several that I know of in St. Louis, Missouri and Knoxville, Tennessee. These are ones that I have visited. I would love to find a stone angel like yours.
There’s always Marktplaats!haha!
I dream of one day owning a tagine. I’m so sad in life.
We also have fairtrade shops in Canada. :) Can’t wait for the food to come!
That colour tajine is just fabulous!. Reminds me of my lavender-blue KitchenAid mixer, couldn’t resist that either… Haven’t seen any Fair Trade shops here in Andalucia, but maybe they do exist in the bigger cities…
We have Ten Thousand Villages fair trade stores throughout the USA and Canada. http://www.tenthousandvillages.com
Some churches in our area sell fair trade coffee, tea and chocolate.
came across your website while looking for appetizer recipes. Love it. i have a tagine for 3 or 4 years but don’t know to use it. looking forward to your recipes.
I live in Tennessee, and the closest thing to a fair trade store is our World Market. It is amazing and has food, drinks, and furniture from all over the world. Its beautiful!
