The crowd in my house does not like their eggs to actually look like, well, eggs. I am betting what I do for eggs in a basket will work for this as well. Simply give the eggs a little whisk before adding and they will cook firmly and evenly. Maybe not as pretty for some of us, but picky eaters are a mysterious fact of life! I will definitely be trying this recipe soon!

Im 19 years old and fresh from a year learning how to cook in university. Tried this dish for me and my mother, and she thought it was delicious. So simple and delicious, perfect for beginners like me I think. I think you need a jazzier name than egg pie though! :)

I LOVE the way this looks and tried it this morning! You are so right about using a small egg. I only had large and tried it....when the yolk was cooked perfectly the whites were runny and when the whites became firm enough the yolk was solid...I never buy small eggs so next time I think I will cook at a lower temp for longer! BUT, fab recipe and just found your blog and completely addicted to it...for your photography and recipes-- I have a 3 month old myself and have a new found love of photography that stemmed from needing to capture every smile and coo on film!!!
