Cauliflower Patties

I came up with this recipe years ago, when the kiddo was still a toddler and was going through one of his super annoying “No. I’m not eating vegetables and you can’t make me!’ phases. I found a workaround when it finally dawned on me that once I turned vegetables into patties and browned them, he’d eat anything I’d put in there. Ha, take that, punk! 1-0 for the self-proclaimed…

Creamy Chicory Mash Pot

This recipe is derived from an old Dutch recipe for ‘Friese stamppot’. Friesland is a province in the northwest of the Netherlands. Sweet Chili Brussels Sprouts

Always looking out for new ways to spice up those boring Brussels Sprouts. Don’t get me wrong; I love those green little suckers, but admit that they can be boring! This was one of my love’s ideas, which was amazing in and of itself seeing as he cannot cook. But, in short, he loves Brussels sprouts and sweet chili sauce so he tossed up the idea for this recipe and,…

Sesame Roasted Broccoli

You won’t find many broccoli recipes on my site because, quite frankly, I just don’t like it. There. I’ve said it. Neither does my son, but that’s probably my fault. Sure, I’m okay with broccoli deeply hidden in a casserole, drowned in an almost indecent amount of cheese sauce, and hardly recognisable as a vegetable much less as broccoli, but broccoli as is… nope. Not my thing. When a friend…
