Sweet Onion & Bread Soup

Borrowing another Delicious magazine recipe. Hope they don’t mind. Somehow I doubt it; it’s only recipe plagiarism when you make someone else’s recipes and don’t reveal the source, isn’t it? I’m a sucker for their magazine, though I must admit I don’t cook a lot of their recipes. They’re too fancy for me and for everyday cooking. I mainly drool over the gorgeous photography. But that somewhat changed. I knew I had to…

Kay’s Peanut Soup. The Other One.

I’ve always been a huge fan of peanut soup, peanut sauce etcetera. Anything peanut butter is fine by me. Though the word fan is an uderstatement. Think of me as a closet peanut junkie trying to get a fix. The Chinese toko downtown—the one where they sell spicy Surinam peanut butter—is my dealer.

      Cucumber Cream Soup

I’ve been meaning to make gazpacho, but as soon as the first signs of summer appeared, so did the gazpacho. Like, all over the internet. They popped up like playboy bunnies out of Hugh Hefners fake birthday cake. That kinda ruined it for me. It’s not that I don’t like gazpacho, I absolutely do, but it’s just really boring to shoot a posting that everyone and their brother did as well. So…

        Kay’s Chicken Soup

I came up with this Italian-style soup mainly because I had a fresh oregano overload in the backyard. Notice how I’m not saying the garden? I don’t have a garden—nothing but tiles in my petite Dutch back yard. I do have several generously filled herb boxes hanging from the fence, though. Works like a charm that way! Filling the house with the scent of fresh oregano simmering in soups…

          Sweet Potato Pepper Soup

I’m repenting! I’ve been neglecting my vegetarian friends. There’s just no fundamental excuse for this *hangs head in shame* But… better late than never, right? Have to say I think a lot of you non-vegetarians will like this soup as well. Sharing one of my favorite soups here. It’s a beautiful bright orange and thick meal soup. Very creamy, even though there’s not a drop of cream to be found in there. It’s…

            Haddock and Potato Soup

Slowly I’m building quite a ‘what to do with left-over mashed potatoes’ category. Probably because—being the potato junkie that I am—I constantly make way too much of it. You’ll find my Ghanaian peanut soup (it’s absolutely divine!) and not to mention my Potato Crepes there. When I eat fish for dinner, I prefer to eat it with a light white sauce and some mashed potatoes. Carrots and leeks both make a perfect side-dish for fish, but…
