Quickie Sunday posting. I’m trying really hard not to let myself get too excited here. Knock on wood and don’t say it out loud, but it’s Spring! Yes it is. Undeniably. Even when mother nature tries to mess with us again and hands us another round of cold winter weather, I’ll still have these pictures as photographic evidence.
I have a thing for slightly odd photos. Weird angles, bad composure, movement blurs, slightly out of focus; I’m all for it. It brings a photo to life. You know, the type of photography that just doesn’t make sense no matter how long you look at it. Looking longer often makes them even worse. The photos with people in it where only part of their body shows, often without head….
At first there was snow. Lots of snow, too much if you ask me. And it was cold, so cold. Now there’s rain. Lots of rain, too much if you ask me. We seem to be falling from one extreme into another. Just an idea I had after seeing someone do a similar thing with fruit some time ago. I think it turned out pretty neat. This was shot with one studio light with softbox attachment. Would it be an an idea…
So, I’ve been messing with lighting and all that. It’s so much fun. And so highly addictive. Learning as I go. I figured I’d start small, a simple glass of water, light back ground and ice cubes. And then I noticed I ran out of ice cubes. Clearly I suck at this. But since my motto is: ‘make do with you have’, I used a mint sprig instead. Hey, it…
