Kitchen Gadgets!

More fun kitchen gadgets from the Fonq cooking section! And no, they’re not paying me to promote them; I just have a deep-seated love for stores that sell neat kitchen gadgets! I must have lived under a rock, because I completely missed these handy kitchen helps made by Joseph Joseph. They look like a million bucks (I take photos of food, cut me some slack) and come in all colours of the…

Jalapeño Powder

There I was, six months after starting Project Jalapeño, having more of those green little suckers than I could eat in a lifetime. After all the work I put into growing them, I sure wasn’t going to let them go to waste, so I thought of ways to keep them. The Madame Jeanette plants are still too small to produce fruit yet, but they are thriving as well. As for me…….

Project Jalapeño VII

After transferring the first batch to a bucket, they took off like a bullet and put out their beautiful white flowers. Because some of the plants will stay indoors, I used a Q-tip and gently rubbed it in the middle of each blossom to hand-pollinate them (move pollen to stamen). Since then I’ve transferred most plants and the majority of them are outdoors now.   They’re doing great, but I…
