And the Winner is…

Popsicle

Me! I was the winner! I seldom to never win anything, guess I’m more lucky in love (not complaining!), but this time I did win something. I won a new kitchen gadget with my copycat version of Häagen-Dazs cookies & cream.

It’s a Zoku Quick Pop Maker. Doesn’t it look sexy?

Zoku

I had no idea something like this even existed. I should have known because my son is an ice pop junkie if ever there was one.

This little device makes ice pops in only 7 minutes, I kid you not. I pour the ingredients in there right before dinner time and by the time we’re done we have home-made ice pops.

I’ve gone crazy ever since I received the package. I’ve tried anything from the basic fresh OJ, banana and lime popsicle to a more extravagant pumpkin spice latte pop, a pureed mango, OJ and chili pepper pop (I love that combo) and the mimosa pop with champagne, strawberry puree and OJ. It was heavenly.

Ijsjes

Next on my list is the Mojito pop! That should be interesting… and intoxicating.

I’m not a very skilled ice cream maker, though, but I’m having a small hope that some of you are… so here’s my question:

“If I’d want to make something like a New York cheesecake pop, what would be a sensible way to go about things? Can it be done?”

Note:
This is no paid advertisement. I’m just completely over the moon about my new gadget.

I just got one of these for mother’s day.  They really are fun.  As far as the cheesecake pop….I have a recipe for a Marble cheesecake pop (cheesecake and chocolate cheesecake flavors) from the quick pop recipe book.  If you would like I can e-mail that recipe to you.  I just wasn’t sure if that is what you were looking for exactly.  Let me know, I’d be more than happy to send it.–Susan

Just saw the Zoku today in the Williams-Sonoma catalog with really cute pops!  My kids want one now.  The W-S website has some recipes and a video for a s’mores pop (yum!).  Sorry, didn’t see a cheesecake recipe there, but hope you will post yours (or @Susan’s)….that sounds delish!

Oops!  That W-S video showed a s’mores pop but did not show the recipe.  Wah!

yes it can be done. In Nigella’s forever summer there is a recipe for cheesecake ice cream. She uses Philadelphia ans digestive biscuits. It super but I usually make it with an icecreammaker.
Only 7 mutes? wow how does it work?

I saw it at the Bijenkorf a couple of weeks ago, and really wanted it! Was a bit shocked by the price though, to be honest… Now, why didn’t I save my Bijenkorf Christmas gift certificate a little longer?? This baby is definitely going on my wishlist ;) Can’t wait to see your creations!
