A Lesser Kayotic Kitchen (giveaway)

Thanks for entering, everyone! Random # generator gave me #34, which is Melissa! Just shoot me a email via the contact form above (in the menu bar), please, and I’ll get you the storage bags asap!

A lesser Kayotic kitchen for me… and for you!

I so love running into kitchen gadgets that not only make organizing my kitchen—not completely unimportant to a food blogger—easier but also look better.

Suffice to say I ran into these really great-looking jute storage bags. These bags make me happy. Pathetic, I know.

1

I was surprised at the amount of onions and potatoes they hold. It’s a set of two different-sized storage bags, and the largest bag easily holds 10 pounds potatoes.
2

And do they look great on a kitchen shelf or what? Of course you can use them for utensils, other vegetables and ‘whatever-you-want’ as well.
3

I picked up an extra pair as a little giveaway. If you want to enter, just answer the following question:

“What kitchen items or food would you store in them?

No entries after Wednesday February 22nd, and only one entry per person, please!

I own a B&B in Montana (USA) and I think they would look cute with the different tea packages in them sitting on the buffet table. I would also use them for storing the different packages of mixes (Taco, spaghetti, etc.) on the shelf in the pantry. Another idea, depending on their size, is to slip them over the outside of a container to keep my tasting spoons in by the stove-top. Where ever they are used they would certainly add interest.

I would love a new  solution for my onions, garlic, & shallots.
I can also see the large one holding all my wooden utensils.  I think that the natural element of wood & jute would look great on my counter.

(& if i don’t win will you tell us where you purchased them???)

I would put them on my kitchen cabinets, one with crazy daisies in it and one with my favorite herb plants.  The daisies make you smile and the herbs have work to do.  I love the idea that someone would ask where did you get 100 lbs of daisies!

How simple but lovely! I think I’d use them to hold some of the various packages of pasta, or the variety of bread packages we always seem to have, or simply use them for potatoes and onions.

Those are so lovely! I would store onions in them and potatoes! The potatoes I have no storage for at the moment, they get stuck it the bottom of a cabinet in the plastic bag I bought them in, lol. The bags would match the dark wood and white painted cabinets of my kitchen fantastically!
(please tell us where you bought them!)

Lentils. Definitely. And I’ll bet my kids will stick their hands in it every time they walk by because it feels funny :)

Wow, they look amazing! I’d love to use the big one to store potatoes, onions and garlic, and the other to hold bouillon cubes, spare packages of herbs and spices and so on. They’d look great in my new kitchen.

Taters, for sure!  And the hulled sunflower seed I feed the wild birds.  And maybe apples!  :)

I hate to be obvious,  but definitely potatoes, onions, garlic and the occasional root-veg that we have lying around. Rustic chic!

Beautiful! I would put onions and garlic into them, as they are the most likely items to escape my pantry in the mischievous hands of my 1.5 year old :)

Ok, we live in San Antonio and I thought of quite a few ideas for these beauties, first we would store our variety of peppers we use, like jalapeno, serrano and the sesonal Hatch pepper, this sac would be put on our kitchen window sill for all to see.
I would also place one on the kitchen table filled with sugar cubes for coffee or tea time, and I was wondering about placing Kosher or Sea Salt in there and grab and go when I’m cooking.
Lastly, I would place our colorful collection of washclothes we have and fold them in there, since right now they are tucked away in a drawer. My daughter told me to say that she would use it for her popcorn on our home movie nights :)
      They look great!!

I love the look of those sacs!!! I would probably put some herb plants in them to grow on my windowsill or, to hide all the clutter on my counter top, I would place my frequently used: olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and adobo containers.

      They are beautiful.
I would probably go with fruits like bananas and apples or wait… with my props, paper, napkins, forks etc.

I bake bread almost everyday. These will look really nice used as a bread basket. I also store my tomatoes and lemons on the counter (no refrigeration for these). The color of the jute will be wonderful against the fiery colors of the tomatoes and lemons stored in them. I love a “Still life” that comes together so organically!
In the summer they will look great as napkin/utensil holders when we dine outdoors on the patio.
Ofcourse to store onions and potatoes. This is exactly how my mother stored them in the pantry in my childhood in India!  Those jute bags came in right from the vegetable markets… complete with farm dirt on them.
These bags make me happy too.  A slice of my childhood!

These would look so cool in my kitchen! I would use then to store lemons and oranges. I am all about color and I know it would look great. Thanks for buying extra and giving it to one of tour many readers.

I love them! They look so beautiful on the shelves. I’ll probably put pasta in one of those bags and whole garam masala packets in another one.

These rustic bags are absolutely wonderful.  I love them just as you have pictured with the potatoes, onions, shallots and garlic.  What a great find!!!

I think these would be so cute for storing garlic and onions, which usually have a home on the counter wherever there is space. (so it is constantly shifting)
